The Debate That Will Never be Resolved: Books vs. E-books
The fights have been long and the arguments have been dirty. The endless comparison between books and e-books still has been circulating the internet and even, the real world. Some say books are for the traditionalists, and e-books for the modernists. But really? Which is much better?
Pro E-books
1. Finding a book in an e-book reader is much easier than finding a book in a big and disorganized shelf.
2. Tablets are convenient to carry around while books are not.
3. You could highlight your favorite quotations anytime anywhere when you're reading e-books.
4. Just type the chapter of a book and "Tada!"
5. I wouldn't be able to carry 10 books in my long vacation. I also need space for my clothes!
6. I literally don't have to eat the flashlight just to see what I'm reading when it's dark! Bless you, tablets.
7. I could definitely pretend that I'm reading a school paper rather than my favorite novel I repeatedly read.
8. If we're going to count all my books, I already have a personal library.
9. I'll never have to worry about my friend not returning my book.
Pro Books
1. You could never find joy in sniffing a tablet. I'd love to buy a book perfume. So addictive!
2. The best feeling in the world? Being able to show off your massive bookshelf. As in wow! Your tablet isn't that impressive.
3. It makes us stronger and more generous. It's hard to lend a book, we'll never know if our babies will come back.
4. We use books as doorstops. I will never use my tablet as a doorstop.
5. That feeling when your initials are in your books. Yep! It's mine and I'm going ask for my favorite author's autograph. (could never do that with a tablet)
6. Though it's both traumatic, I get less nervous when I spill coffee on my books rather than my tablet.
7.Admit it, people look more intelligent with a book rather an a tablet. Haha
8. Where would the tablets go when all power in this world disappears?! Hooray! Long live Biblios!
If I would list all the things that discusses the flaws and edges of books and e-books, I would most likely have to make a new website. Haha. So? Which one is better? I think they're both good. E-books serve us because the convenience they give and books serve us because of the comfort they provide. I've always been exposed to books. When e-books came, it was quite exciting and convenient, why refuse embrace it? It's like sticking to manual computing when calculators came. We still compute manually but of course, we use calculators for the convenience it give. We still read books and we make use of e-books.
