Why read?
1. Meet a fictional boyfriend.
I am definitely serious about this. Well, you get the hunks, and the broken guys and the weird guys and the old irresistable grandpas and even that evil evil villain. You just can't help it. It does set your standards but hey, we can't help it.
2. Burn calories.
Contrary to popular knowledge, reading (that includes coffee and sitting all day) burns calories. If we don't burn calories, then why will our body ache after hours of reading? Haha. But seriously, when we read, there is an active process happening in our brain, thus, we think.
3. It gives you that little escape.
With all those paperwork, exams, reports and presentations, sometimes all we want to do is say "To hell with it!," and sleep orrrrr Read! It would take us away to a place where there is no exams, just mayhem and murder, and isn't that more fun and exciting?!
4. You become sensitive. (Maybe a little too much sometimes)
When we're exposed to different cultures and places, we become aware of how they live and why they live like that. We are given a different angle/ a different point of view when it comes to something that we have never encountered before. Anddd, the other sensitive is when we think too much of a character that we defend their actions with all our lives.
5. Book hangover is better than alcohol hangover.
Well, I'm not sure why i wrote this because book hangover is an emotional battle. At least, when one does have a typical hangover, he/she still knows the direction of their lives, that's just not the case with book hangover. Imagine existing in an imaginary world when you have realities to face. Sucks big time. BUT, when at least, a book hangover is a consequence of production.
I've just enumerated a few not so overrated benefits of reading. Below is a link that showcases the scientific benefits of reading.
